We’ll begin with a short presentation from NOBBA Sponsor John Caruso of First Savings Bank followed by our two featured presenters, attorneys from Verde Compliance Partners that specialize in the cannabis industry and will be discussing the state of the cannabis industry nationally and the changes happening here in Ohio.

Verde Compliance Partners is a national consulting firm focused on guiding clients through federal cannabis permitting, taxation and regulatory compliance. Their firm prepares and navigates cannabis growers and processors through the regulatory, legal, and administrative requirements necessary to comply with current and future federal regulations.

Attorney David Patton of Solon Ohio is a former Ohio Assistant Attorney General that served under the Taft administration. Since 2016 he has been practicing law exclusively in the cannabis space and teaches medical marijuana law and regulations at the Cleveland School of Cannabis. Mr. Patton published an article entitled “A History of United States Cannabis Law” in the Journal of Law & Health in 2020.

Attorney Harry Bernstein served as general counsel of a beer and wine wholesale distributor for nearly 20 years before going on to found Verde Compliance Partners and over the last 20 years has assisted individuals with health care matters and special needs including representing clients at federal administrative hearings at the Social Security Administration.
