February 26th Guest Speaker: Marilyn Landis, Basic Business Concepts!
Our February meeting will kick off with some networking discussions and the opportunity to get to know NOBBA member Jerry Krieg of First Commonwealth Bank. Our featured presenter, back by popular demand will be Marilyn Landis of Basic Business Concepts:
Winds of change are blowing through the nation. Learn what the top priorities are for small business and what the future may hold for regulation and legislation. Marilyn will be back from the NSBA Small Business Congress in time for the February meeting – and will share updates and action initiatives. Following that discussion – based on her professional expertise with small business – she will share with us robust tools we can use to calculate the working capital needed to fund a business – which is critical to define the amount of working capital that should be left behind on an entity sale or provided from loan funds or buyer’s cash on an asset purchase. These data driven models can help navigate the tricky negotiation between buyers and sellers on working capital. Bankers will like these too – they are proven and more realistic than standard analysis ratios – especially since they are customized to a specific business.
